Heidi Castelein
From plant-based food companies to responsible fashion, Heidi is drawn to ideas that are climate positive and bring joy to the consumer. For her, it’s as much about believing in purpose-driven founders as it is about the products and services themselves.
After completing her MFA in graphic design, Heidi founded the women’s sleepwear brand, PJ Valentine. The range of patterns were inspired by retro textiles, printed locally in the Bay Area and sold at Bergdorfs, Barneys and boutiques throughout the US. She is co-founder of an emerging apparel brand, called Bernier, with a focus on sustainable and ethical production.
Heidi has served on the boards of educational and arts nonprofits for many years and has dedicated her time to fundraising on the organizations’ development and campaign committees. She has a love for documentaries and their ability to change lives, and pursues this through her work on the board of SF Film.
Heidi grew up in Minneapolis and Aspen and lives in San Francisco. She cherishes time with her family and friends, loves to entertain, hike, ski, travel and is passionate about architecture, art and design.
